An immediate need met by bringing together critical assets of the community
As we mentioned last week, Prosono has partnered with Cherry Creek Schools Foundation to supply remote learning kits to nearly 4,000 students in the district. The kits include basic school supplies that will further enable teachers to do their job.
“While a great deal of the learning can happen virtually, most of what students do to practice newly acquired skills come from traditional “pencil to paper” approaches that require access and possession of basic school supplies” said Chad Gerity, Principal at Ponderosa Elementary.
Starting this week, the students can pick up remote learning kits which include paper, colored pencils, crayons, pencils, and a pencil sharpener along with information on mental and physical health resources.
The North Face brand of VF Corp provided some backpacks that will go directly to the Title I schools for distribution. V&R Naturals donated bags to be packed with school supplies. The Denver Marriott Tech Center gladly provided the space to assemble and pack the remote learning kits.
The effort was successful because of generosity of our donors and the volunteers who helped pack the remote learning kits. We facilitated and organized volunteers with social distancing measures and strict safety protocols in place.
We continue to collect school funds for the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation to reach and equip more students with the basic supplies they need for learning. Consider making a donation here.
